Interesting week. Australia Day in particular. I've seen two
movies
bringing the total to eight for the month, which is my most ever. I
hope you're all suitably impressed. Tomorrow night I'm off to a 21st
(haven't been to one of those for a while), but who knows what the
rest of the weekend will bring.

I'm just back from seeing Jay and Silent Bob. I thought it
was excellent. All the references to previous View Askew movies and
the plethora of cameo appearances combine to make this a must see
movie for everyone who has seen Kevin Smith's other work. Now I have
a sudden desire to watch Chasing Amy again (I got the DVD
in the mail on Tuesday). But now I must sleep, for tomorrow is Cam
and Tiff's engagement party. I'll be interested to see how our house
handles eighty guests.

I'm up to five movies for the
month already, with number six coming up
tomorrow. And it will be a good one, with Jay and Silent Bob Strike
Back finally being released in Australia.
At this rate I will have beaten last year's movie total by August.
But that isn't going to happen. Tomorrow I'm going to pay for my
holiday to Europe, and in the process reduce my bank balance by around
50%. But that's ok, it will be worth it. I'm really tired tonight, and
I'm only up to day five of my do something every day for nine
days thing. I really need this upcoming long weekend. And thus
ends my random purging of thoughts for this evening. I should try to
be more coherent.

Last night it occurred to me that I've been seeing too many good
movies
recently. While this may not sound like a problem, the difficulty comes
when I see mediocre movies like The One. I just don't enjoy movies like
that as much as I used to. And the more movies I see, the more of them
seem to be mediocre. On happier matters, I've almost decided to get a
digital camera. Hooray for me!
Once that happens, I have no doubt that
harshbutfair will become even more exciting than it is already. But
I'll wait until the end of February so I can get one duty free. I've
been thinking about starting on new case. I haven't done any case mods
in about six months, so I'm getting restless. My biggest problem is
still how to power all of those fans.

I've started to confirm my plans for going to Europe in a few months.
I'll be flying
Malaysia Airlines to
and from London, and then taking a
Kumuka Expeditions tour around
Europe. Sweeet. I'm also going to Sydney
for a few weeks during February for work. I got a new keyboard on the
weekend, a nice old Digital. It has no extra keys (that extra row near
Home/Insert/End etc really pisses me off) and it feels really nice. And
the best thing is it was free.

Not much happened this week. I've been busy at work, but haven't
done much else. I did see Ocean's Eleven on Thursday though, it was
pretty good but I was surprised that the cinema was so full.

As I promised a couple of days ago, the new harshbutfair is complete.
Observe how nice it looks. At least, it looks nice in Mozilla.
Netscape is blatantly ignoring my CSS, and I can't be bothered trying
to fix it at the moment. I haven't tried it in anything else,
I hope it's acceptable in IE, but I can't check until Monday.
It took bloody ages to do, but I'm really
happy with it. I've seen some damn fine
movies recently. Actually I
saw four movies in a single week, costing me a total of A$41.40. Ouch.
However, the last two, Amelie and Together, were
brilliant. It's now almost midnight, and
WALAN is tomorrow, so I'm
going to bed. Oh yes, check out the results of the
sickos survey.

The new harshbutfair is almost finished. Hopefully I'll have it up before
the end of the week. In the meantime I'm not going to update the
movies or
music pages, even though I've seen three more movies and bought two new
CDs. These updates can wait. And most importantly, remember that this
coming weekend is WALAN, which should
be Australia's biggest ever LAN event. I certainly won't forget, I spent
nine hours on Monday making power looms for the damn thing.
